first of all, a job in a mosque is not strictly for religion students, though most people get it have religion degrees, and by the way sometimes it comes with a house :), on the other hand, the pay is not enough because it's considered to be a second job or a part time job

people who study religion are devided in to three groups, one who study it to get a job, and they mostly become teachers and the job is guaranteed for all teaching majors if you get it from the right institution (Teacher's College) but sometimes it can take a while, no special tratment for religion major. The second group are the people who study religion because they want to, but in their spare time, so they study something else while they studying in the mosques, they do O.K. but they never get a job in religion, and normally they will understand religion better then the first group because they learned something they passion about, some of the best and most succesful men/women are of this group. The third group are people who passion about religion and study religion for itself, these people usually study it in either the "Imam University" or in the "Islamic University" or one of their branches, students need to do very will in order to have a chance in a job or in a schoolership to continue their study, people of this group are recognizable since high school, and none can fake it.

Hi,

Have you ever heard or seen anyone with a religious degree waiting in line with a social security queue?

In Israel they pay the religious studies students, in Saudi they give all students allowances that are higher for the better performers.

As to jobs, demand is sufficient to guarantee them employment, not subsidized.

The Non-Saudi's that come here to get religious education have jobs where they came from.. A lot of Islamic judges from many countries graduate from Saudi.
