Besides people can take Humanities in college and actually you can send a person in high school to a community college to take certain courses this being one of them. Anyway, I don't think that you should teach this in schools and then have to test them...if it's not ones religion they shouldn't have to learn it and be tested unless it's by choice. Me and my friends asked why we didn't do Islam or Hinduism and she just said that it was 'easier'. The concept is good, but it needs to contain lots of different religions, like you said. Personally I would also like to see philosophical teachings and moral theories such as Utilitarianism and Deontology also being taught in school.
